Rosie has been doing her puppy walking training with Edith, an experienced puppy walker.
As you can imagine with the onset of coronavirus, Edith had to alter hertraining methods with Rosie due to the social distancing guidelines put in place to help stop the spread of coronavirus. However, before the restrictions were put in place, she was able to take Rosie to local shops and cafés and introduce her to public transport. Edith is looking forward to continuing building on these areas once she and Rosie are allowed to be out and about again.
When it comes to training, Rosie is very keen and quick to learn, says Edith. She has been learning basic obedience skills, such as ‘sit and ‘down’. Rosie has also learnt the ‘touch’ command; this will be useful for her future owner when finding an empty seat on a bus or train.
During her free runs, Rosie loves playing and can sometimes get a little distracted. So Edith has been working on improving her recall and is pleased to see Rosie's progress already. She runs back quickly when called and stops right in front of Edith – luckily her ‘brakes’ are very good, and she doesn’t slam into her legs!
We hope you've enjoyed Rosie's first Pupdate. Please keep an eye out for another one very soon.
